Thank-You for the Recognition Today, Indy!

In February I pulled some all-nighters and weekends while volunteering for the 2012 Superbowl Committee. Pat Coyle gave me a call when it was ramping up and I was energized to be on board and provide some guidance (and quite a bit of development) to piece together a social and search campaign that would get Indianapolis’ name all over the web as the city to select.

The site also aggregated filtered content from all over the web and from local media sites to keep Indy residents up to date on the project’s progress. It was an incredibly rewarding project and a fantastic team led by Mark Miles. Everyone divided and conquered… and we did it! Mark is one heck of a leader – he knows how to put together a team, remove the barriers to success, and empower his folks to get the job done.

RCA Dome PlaqueToday, I received a beautiful plaque from Michael Karnuta, Vice President of Business Development for the Indiana Sports Corporation for the assistance I provided. The plaque actually has an authentic piece of the RCA Dome on it, too cool!

If you’re not familiar with the Indiana Sports Corporation and you live here locally, you need to personally join the organization and your get your company to get a membership, too! We’ve got a ton of events coming to Indianapolis in the next decade and if you want to give back to the region as well as get some great recognition – this is the team to join!

The Indiana Sports Corporation

Indiana Sports Corporation’s membership team serves as the catalyst in attracting great events to Indiana and providing unique opportunities for our youth. Your tax-deductible contribution also comes with a number of benefits. If you have any questions on ISC membership, please contact Mike Pruzin at membership@indianasportscorp.com or (317) 237-5020.

Special thanks to Michael for taking the time out today to see me. Mike was very gracious in expressing his thanks to me for the effort, execution and leadership I continue to put toward promoting the region. He threw in a bag of wood chips for barbecuing to symbolize the impact I had in lighting a fire under the project. I’m proud of my participation in getting the Superbowl (sure… Peyton and Irsay may have helped, too) and thankful for my continued friendship with Pat Coyle to open these opportunities.

I look forward to following up with Michael and other leaders working so hard to bring major sporting events to the region! For you folks outside of Indianapolis – I don’t mean to gush over our city, but it’s a big city with such an incredibly well-connected business base. Where else could you volunteer and jump in to help get a Superbowl?!
