Ragu has a new campaign Mom’s the Word on Dinner where they interview Mom bloggers who talk about their husbands’ limited cooking habits… which are basically grilling, making sausages and waffles (all three of which I happen to love). C.C. Chapman says Ragu hates Dads. Erik Deckers calls for a boycott on Facebook, Jason Falls says F-U to Ragu, too!
If you read through the comments on C.C.’s blog, it seems all the A-listers have joined the fight! And why shouldn’t they? Men have fought too hard and cooked too many meals to get treated like this! How dare Ragu offer up dinner alternatives and assume that men may need some help coming up some new recipes! How dare they! Have they no shame?!
Here’s the egregiously offensive advertisement that has set back the plight of the cooking man a decade… or two. Stand by to be shocked and offended!
Oh… and we shouldn’t forget AT&T hates men who make decisions without wives:
And Playstation hates men who don’t spend time with their families:
And Just for Men hates men with gray hair:
And Viagra hates mature men:
And Allstate hates men who look at women:
And Old Spice hates all men with a single exception:
Sorry guys… you lost me.
In a world where we have an economic crisis, a couple wars, a deficit, high unemployment and a plethora of other problems… I’m finding it really hard to jump on board to defend the plight of the blogging man who can cook. It doesn’t quite equate to the women’s suffrage or civil rights movement at this point. I think you’re going to be okay.
It’s interesting that folks put commercials out with boobs to sell domain names and no one gets offended… but God forbid someone says a guy can’t cook.
C’mon guys. Put down your aprons and ease up a little.
