For those of you that noticed that I disappeared off the net this weekend, I apologize for not even posting a note or two. We had a bit of a family crisis at home that took all my attention and energy. No matter how important my blog is and keeping up my online reputation, nothing is as important as family.

I am very thankful for my friends, online and offline, during these challenging times. I had quite a few emails this weekend just asking if everything is okay. (It’s not okay yet, but it will get there.)

Speaking of friends, this is a post that I’ve meant to do for a while. Good friend and fellow Bean Fiend, Jason Bean (no relation) wrote a post Be Douglas Karr’s Friend.

It all started when Jason was setting up his camera to take a timed photo of the two of us. I mocked up standing there with my arm around him and he took the photo. We then came up with the idea to do a post and have others ‘fill in’ and be my friend. Here’s the response we got!

I\'m not really patting him on the head, I was going to push him off the counter and the camera caught it!

I\'ve met Lorraine and her husband a few times and we\'ve enjoyed each other\'s company. I think we\'re more like reunited family!
I’ve met Lorraine and her husband a few times at regional events and we’ve enjoyed each other’s company quite a bit (at least I hope they enjoyed mine!). I think we’re more like reunited family!

Michelle\'s blog is new to me - but I\'m already enjoying her thoughtful and personal prose. I hope we can meet up with Michelle and have that cup of coffee!

Local podcaster, and music entrepreneur extraordinaire, Darrin Snider even took the time to get me in there! I met Darrin at ExactTarget and really enjoyed our conversation. Hope to cross paths again soon!

You can still get in the fun! Here’s the original photo that you can Photoshop yourself into! The more friends, the better!

Guess that means you didn’t get that cool Google plug-in built either then. Hope things are smoothing out even more as the day progresses. You’re absolutely correct though, nothing more important than my family. The challenge is how to balance spending time with the family with spending time doing those things you have to so you can take care of and provide for them as well. I’m sure we’ll see you at The Bean Cup soon.

I still want to build that plugin!

Thanks for the support (and friendship) Jason! I’ll see you at The Bean Cup tonight!
