How to Add Cuil to your Firefox Search

I took a shot at Cuil earlier, but one thing I noticed was that they didn’t have a Search Engine plugin for Firefox yet! So - I added a button to my Custom Search Engine Firefox Thingy so that you could just click the button and Cuil would be added!

You don’t even have to fill out anything in the form, just click the button and Cuil will be added! If you check the box, you can set it as your default search engine.

So what is your take on Cuil? I have done a few searches, and I am not sure how I feel about the format, but there does seem to be less junk rising to the top.

One of the big things I love about it (especially as an EFF supporter) is that they don’t record ANY personal info with each search. That’s huge in my book!

The results take getting used to and there are some funky issues with the images and some dated articles. I’m hoping they have a ping address soon and utilize sitemaps so that I can see what happens after I start pinging them.

Cuil does have a firefox add-in. After doing a search, at the bottom there is a link for “Add Cuil to Firefox.”

Thanks Tim! Surprised it’s not on their main page.
