Hat tip to Pat Coyle. There are two key features discussed in this TED presentation from Microsoft that are revolutionary. The first is that data can be displayed on a screen, regardless of screen resolution, and only utilize the resources necessary to properly display the result. Basically, this provides depth to images, not just height and width. This could substantially change the user experience! The second is a visual ‘hyperlinking’ of images on the web and Photosynth’s ability to stitch them together as well as provide dimensional views. Wow.
