I’m a PCI’m a Mac

Hello, I’m a Mac.

And I’m a PC.

PC: I have RAM, a Motherboard, a Processor, a Mouse, a Keyboard, a hard drive and a Monitor.

Mac: I do, too. And since they’re all made by the same folks that make my Operating System, they work better. It’s a lot less code to handle.

PC: I see. I’m a little less expensive since you can mix and match thousands of options and even build me yourself. I may not work as well as you, but I support millions more devices. Unfortunately, when someone writes something crappy, it may mess me up.

Mac: Makes sense, that’s why we don’t let other people make our stuff. I hope you work on that. Hey, at least we can talk to each other!

PC: Sure can! You can see me on your network, I can see you on mine. We both support Wireless, Bluetooth, Firewire and USB.

Mac: Sometimes I dress a little cooler than you do, though.

PC: Yea, but if folks are willing to spend a little more, I can look quite nice. Heck, I can even look like you with some nice theme software.

Mac: Wow. And since we have the same processors now, I can actually run your software with Parallels.

PC: You can? That seems a little one-sided, doesn’t it?

Mac: Sure… but no one really complains because you’re one of those ‘business’ monsters that all us cool guys are supposed to hate.

PC: Hate away, buddy! That way know one really cares as you (Apple) walks away with $472 million in profits with a 48% profit margin. It’s ironic that it makes me look evil for working with everyone, while you don’t share anything and make great profits, too.

Mac: Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone. After all, we’re coming out with a phone soon that’s going to be a big seller.

PC: A phone? Wow… didn’t those come out quite a while ago?

Mac: Yeah, but we’re going to make it cooler.

PC: How much cooler?

Mac: 50%-profit-margin-cooler.

PC: Wow. With those types of margins, you’d think you could drop your prices a little. After all, artists and musicians don’t make too much money… do they?

Mac: No, but they’re willing to spend more on creative, cool stuff.

PC: It’s good to be cool.

Mac: All the way to the bank, buddy!

Doug, that was one of the most creative posts I’ve read in a long time.

Did you actually come up with all of it? If so, you should solicit your marketing skills to Apple for sure :)

Great job!

It’s all mine. :) I was reading another post on “I hate Mac” and there were thousands of comments added. It was a real flame war… but I just think all of the arguments are really silly.

Thanks! Did you Digg it? ;)

Awesome post Doug!! You kinda summarized pretty much the whole PC-Mac and iPhone debate with one short and entertaining post. Well done!

Didn’t think about digging it. Good idea! Do you have a link for it on Digg or should I start a new one?

I try not to digg my own stories, I think it works against the Digg algorithm. Would love if you started one, though!

Ex-cell-ent! You know, Justin Long is walking away from the Mac ads. Guess he asked for too much money.

You’ll find that was just a rumor. He’s sticking to those ads for a while. The ads are working fantastically - I doubt he can outbid Mac on those.

So true, Gavin. I didn’t get into politics with this but it reminds me of government… as long as Republicans and Democrats have everyone hating each other, no one notices how much they’re abusing and filling their own pockets.

Doug,

I love this humor! Of course, Apple is the one laughing. In the meantime, Dell has its CEO back in charge. Maybe he will re-hire the Dell Dude for their commercials to combat the Mac guy!

I love it Mac is a toy to me. I edit video on my PC and it works great. Although I tunes is a apple it works great on my PC. Walk in Best buys and they have thousands of software titles for PC and only a few for MAC. I’m sorry the Macs don’t lock up is BS I have seen them do it.

I love this entry  It’s mutual now :P But actually Mac do went to blue-death-screen too, only it happen less than Windows, Windows XP had been a good company with me though. Although I’m just a new Mac user, but I think if I would have the chance to choose my next computer, it will be a really hard deal…

I think the good the about Mac ads is that they are easy to make fun of. I’m sure Apple realizes that they’re new ads aren’t the greatest, but these parodies - good or bad - will just bring more attention to the Apple camp.
