I work right on the circle in downtown Indianapolis. It’s a fantastic location. We moved into our building on floors 2, 6, & 7 with 10 as a training and community area. We’ve since taken over the third floor as well. The folks heading up ExactTarget are simply fantastic. We’re 180+ employees strong but if feels like a little company. We don’t work in cubicles, we work in ‘pods’, boomerang shaped spaces with plenty of room that don’t separate folks as much as combine them.

Since moving into the building a year ago, they’ve been trying to get a deck on the 10th floor and finally succeeded, working through some safety issues with the building owners (and the city, I think). Yesterday was the “Grand Opening” of our deck! The company celebrated with Qdoba breakfast burritos and gourmet coffee. (If you’ve not had a Qdoba breakfast burrito, you’re not living life to its fullest).

Here’s a few pics I (poorly) stitched together:

What a great company. Great people, fantastic location, incredible product… it gets better and better everyday.

If that’s not enough, my Director pulled us all into her office yesterday asking what kind of ‘old school’ candy we liked. It seems Karen happened upon a website with Sugar Daddy’s, candy cigarettes, and the like and she thought it would be great to have some around the office. Awesome! I’ve got some work to catch up this weekend, perhaps there will be some Red Hots waiting for me next week (hint, hint).

BopToday, the action was a “Bop to the Top” race between Taylor and Brian at lunch time. It seems Brian was talking some smack so Taylor challenged him to a duel… best time to run up 7 flights of stairs. Brian won, but half the company was in the stairwell cheering them both on. Side bets were made with half the money going to the company’s charity. The definition fits…

Today, we also hired another Product Manager for our API and Third Party Integrations… Dale McCrory. I worked with Dale while he was developing some solutions while part of our Solutions Consulting team. He’s a brilliant guy, can’t wait to have him on the team!

And, another committee has started up, ExactFUN… to do events outside of work. Folks, I’m not sure a job can get much better than this!
